Blue Cottage is a delightful, cosy, beautifully restored detached Cornish
cottage. It is the destination for perfect holidays. The cottage is in the
lovely Cornish village of Common Moor, in the heart of Bodmin
Moor. Only 15 minutes walk away (5 minutes drive) is Siblyback Lake with all its sporting
facilities, fishing, water ski-ing, windsurfing, trails and cafe.
With a central location in Cornwall,
Cornish Blue
is less than 30 minutes drive to the South or North coasts. 11 miles from
Looe on the south coast and 30 miles from north coast. Many original
features have been rescued and restored, like beamed ceilings in the
lounge and bedroom and granite door lintels. Oak floors through the
downstairs area are practical and stunning.

| Enter
through the front door to porch area and then into the kitchen/dining area.
From here go through the old pine door to the gorgeous lounge or upstairs to your
pretty bedroom.
|
The
lounge is wonderfully cosy, it has a wood-burning stove with a generous
store of FREE dry logs
provided, (so perfect in winter too), and sumptuous sofa. French doors
lead from the lounge onto the wonderful sun drenched (hopefully) and sheltered south
facing patio. With windows on three walls the lounge is a superbly lit
room. |
The kitchen/dining area is well equipped for self catering if
you want to dine in.
Cornish Blue
Cottage has double glazed windows throughout with radiators in every room
so even without the fire lit you will be warm and cosy after your walk
across the moors or day on the beach.

Blue Cottage sleeps two people, in a queen-sized bed with pocket-sprung
mattress, top quality duvet and luxury bed linen provided. The pretty, bedroom is light
and airy with exposed beams. There is a flatscreen TV with DVD player and
freeview and there's also a wonderful view across farmland and the Moor. This room is cosy enough for your well deserved lie in at all
times of the year. The thick hand-made curtains will keep you snug in
winter and prevent the early morning sunshine from waking you in summer.
|
| The
cottage has a modern bathroom, a large bath with power shower over, plenty of hot water
for a nice soak!

|
 |
 |
The
south facing patio is ideal for sun-bathing, morning coffee and barbeques.
There is a rustic table and chairs, barbeque and soft sunbathing chairs in
summer.
The sun shines on this area from early morning until evening, this will
definitely be
your favourite spot!
Common Moor
used to be called Pilla Moor which means Great Moor. The village developed
in the early 19th Century when there was a boom in tin and copper mining
in the surrounding Caradon Hills and area. |
| There
are miles and miles of fantastic moorland walks, fishing at Siblyback
Lake, boat hire and windsurfing (including lessons) and much more.
This is the
'main' road from Common Moor to St Neot, a typical Cornish lane with hedge
rows covered in wild flowers and everywhere teeming with wildlife. Seeing
a deer on the moor is a real thrill.
Delightful
walk to Siblyback Lake along footpaths and moorland.
