Siblyback Lake (swlakestrust)

Walking to the lake from Cornish Blue Cottage takes you on a wonderful trail, through the village  and across moorland fields, over styles  and through beautiful farmland.

 

The three and a half mile walk around the Lake is pretty fantastic too. You can learn sailing, rowing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking with private tuition as a couple (Tel 01579 346522) - telephone for information about courses and availability. You can go fly fishing for trout and bring home your catch of up to three or four fish (£20 day and you must have an environment agency rod licence). Take your own canoes/windsurfers etc and launch for a fee £6-£8 ish.

 

     

The walk to 'The Hurlers' and  'Cheesewring' stones and quarry at Minions is lovely and very blustery. There is an interesting information centre in the Mine Buildings at the start of your walk.

The very beautiful town of Launceston is only about 14 miles away, and well worth a visit. We often stop for lunch on our journey to and from Cornish Blue Cottage.
Golitha Falls on the River Fowey is a tranquil 20 minute riverside walk, with plenty of places to picnic   Stert's Theatre

Stert's Theatre

Only open in the summer months as it is open air. Programme will be issued in the spring. Even in the Summer it gets really cold, you must take/wear warm clothes.

Walking

These dramatic pictures of an old mine building, and granite quarry were taken on a walk up Caradon Hill by Minions. From the top you get a stunning almost 360 degree view.
